Oasis Friend,
We're excited to share the latest updates from our partners, where we spotlight a Burundian Pastor’s inspiring journey from seeking jobs in Kampala to answering his calling in ministry. We also celebrate Prof Abel Ndjerareou’s report on launching BEPA, the French Africa Study Bible for the African diaspora in Europe. Celebrating the Launch of BEPA for African Diaspora in Europe |
Prof Abel Ndjerareou, a dedicated board member of Oasis and a visionary founding member of La Bible d’étude: Perspectives africaines (BEPA), is thrilled to share the exciting journey of launching the French study Bible for the African diaspora in Europe!
Last year, on October 12th and 20th, the BEPA Launch and Training Team kicked off this incredible initiative with vibrant events in Paris at the Old Bible Institute of Nogent-sur-Marne and in Strasbourg during the annual gathering of African diaspora churches.
This year, the enthusiasm continued to grow with launches in the African diaspora churches in Liège, Belgium, on March 15th and 16th, all thanks to the collaboration with local bookstores.

This momentum then carried the BEPA team to the Faculté Universitaire de Théologie Protestante de Bruxelles on March 17th, where they celebrated another significant launch. A presentation on March 18th at the Evangelica Bible Institute, a sister seminary to Vaux Seminary Franche, added to the excitement and connection with theological education for French-speaking evangelical churches.

Prof Abel Ndjerareou and Greg Burgess, the BEPA Project Leader and Founder of Publications pour la jeunesse africaines, were hosted at a local bookstore in Belgium. During their visit, they held presentations during store hours. The bookstore beautifully showcased BEPA advertisements in their street display and at the store entrance.

The annual gathering of Evangelical France (CNEF) is scheduled to take place from May 8th to 10th. It will highlight the vital role of diaspora churches, and Prof Ndjerareou has been invited as a guest speaker. Looking further ahead, there’s a potential presentation of BEPA at the Reform Seminary in beautiful Aix-en-Provence on May 15th.
Prof Ndjerareou is inspiring members of the African diaspora to support ministries back home by purchasing BEPAs and Africa Study Bibles for pastors and congregations deserving of this vital resource. Continue to pray with us that over time, BEPA will reach the over 100 million Christians in Africa who read in French.

From Job Search to Empowering Ministry |
After graduating in 2017, Pastor Djuma Havyarimana moved to Kampala in search of job opportunities but felt unfulfilled. In 2020, a woman encouraged him to follow his calling to become a minister of God, which led him to resign from his job and return home to Burundi. Back home, Pastor Djuma reconnected with a mentor who introduced him to Teen Missions South Africa, inspiring him to pursue this new path.
Three years later, he is now an intern with a pastoral role in a diverse church community. The Africa Study Bible has enriched his understanding of Scripture, and through Teen Missions, Pastor Djuma continues to flourish in faith and his journey into ministry.

Children's Ministry Leaders in Liberia Empowered with Africa Study Bibles |
Last month, 45 children's ministry leaders received copies of the Africa Study Bible and Stand Up for the Gospel, a book by Oasis author Rev Emmanuel Kwasi Amoafo. The student leaders praised God for this generous gift. They are currently using these resources to teach children and youth in their communities and in Sunday school programs.
Fred Achodo, the Regional Educational Director for the Children Evangelical Fellowship (CEF), received and distributed the Bibles on behalf of Rev. Tom Logan, the National Director of CEF Liberia.
By equipping these leaders with biblical resources, we are fostering a deeper understanding of faith among children and youth in their communities. Pray with us that the mission of nurturing the next generation in their spiritual journey continues to thrive.

In Loving Memory of Carol Britten: A Legacy of Love and Faith |
"Yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!"
Habakkuk 3:18 (NLT)
With deep sorrow, we mourn the passing of Carol Britten, a beloved wife, author, and faithful servant of God. She is survived by her husband, Bruce Britten. Together, they co-authored Answers for Your Marriage, a groundbreaking book that not only transformed countless relationships but also gave birth to Oasis International Publishing—a platform dedicated to literature that speaks to the heart of Africa.
Carol’s generosity knew no bounds, serving both through her leadership as a Board Member of Oasis and through the immeasurable impact of her and Bruce’s work. Their book, which has sold over a million copies across Africa and India, has strengthened and restored marriages around the world. Their lives stand as a powerful testimony of what God can do with hearts fully surrendered to His purpose.
We ask for your prayers for Bruce and their family as they navigate this profound loss.
